It all started like a classic story: “Boy meets girl, boy has a big dream, girl says, ‘Sure, why not?'” and just like that, our adventure began! Tony, the visionary behind WHO-KA, always dreamed big. He knew we should leave our hometown to experience something new, while I thought, “NEVER will I ever leave.” Our first move wasn’t too far—just a short hop from Ottawa to St. Lazare, QC.

Fast forward a few years, and we found ourselves living in Bellevue, WA. Five years later, we downsized into a 24-foot RV with three kids (surprisingly cozy!) and set off to BC in search of land. We had a vision: to connect with nature and embrace a simpler life—one where we could slow down, focus on what truly matters, and step away from the constant noise of modern living. For us, this meant growing our own food, raising animals, and finding joy in everyday tasks like tending to the land or watching a sunset without distractions.

This vision reshaped our daily routine and brought us closer together as a family. That’s how WHO-KA Orchards in Mahood Falls came to be.

Learning to Say “Yes”

I didn’t think I’d get this involved, but here we are. I learned quickly to NEVER say, “I’ll never…” Work as a nurse in the U.S.? Done. Live in an RV? Yep. Sell everything I own? Check. Move to Quebec, travel for work, travel for a school bus, own five dogs, raise horses, or deliver a lamb?

All of it. Honestly, it’s wild looking back, but one moment sticks out—standing in the middle of our land, surrounded by the quiet hum of nature, I realized that every challenge had brought us here. That feeling of peace made it all worthwhile, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Tony’s dreams definitely inspired me.

Finding Our Place

Now we’re running a sheep and chicken farm on this amazing piece of land. I won’t lie—when I first stepped on it, I cried. Who knew we’d end up here, taking care of this place? Every step has been a lesson, and my journey is just beginning. I’m tapping into energy I didn’t know I had, and it’s exciting to share it with others. This life, the land, the people—it’s all part of something bigger.

A Life-Changing Discovery

Recently, I found something that’s totally changed my perspective. One day, after trying a guided practice from Human Garage, I realized how much tension I’d been carrying without even knowing it. As I let go, it felt like a switch flipped—I saw how much I had been holding myself back. It’s amazing how a small moment like that can make such a big difference. I’ve joined an awesome online community and learned so much from Human Garage and InFlow retreats now BeFlow Collective. It’s been life-changing, and I’m pumped to share what I’ve discovered. It’s helped me feel more passionate and grateful than ever.

Embracing Sylvotherapy

Oh, and here’s something cool—I’m training to become a sylvotherapist! Basically, it’s about forest bathing, which means walking in the woods, breathing deeply, and letting the trees calm you down. Imagine hanging out in a forest, soaking up nature like a woodland creature on a self-care day. Forget yoga—this is all about chilling with trees and leaving your worries behind.

Never Say Never

So, never say never. Did I think I’d be hugging trees, doing goofy poses, or planning full-moon “burn your shit” ceremonies? Nope, but here I am. That’s my story for now. I can’t wait to share more—and I’d love to hear about your journey, too!
